Please let me know if you've also been having this issue, or preferably, if you know a way to easily fix it. Once this happens again, I'll provide a screenshot of the error. I did notice that my modem had been moved over a couple of inches, but I'm not sure if this even has to do with the problem. I've been using the Linksys Velop internet towers for several months and this has never happened to me before (of course, it would happen every now and then mostly due to storms, but not at this frequency and for no apparent reason). Notebook in question: HP Pavilion 17 K6Y34EAW (17,3'/AMD A8/4GB/1TB/Windows 8.1) In first 2 months the machine performed fine but after one of the MS updates DNS errors started to come up, for instance: DNSPROBEFINISHEDNXDOMAIN. I have not changed my Internet setup at all, and this error randomly started to occur last week. The only problem with this issue is that everything else on my computer is fine and connected to the Internet with no problems. I did run the Windows Network Diagnostics at one point, and it said that my DNS probe was disconnected. It also happens more frequently every day, starting at once a day and now happening maybe 2-3 times a day. It started at about 1 minute, and it's getting to last for 5 minutes or more at this point. I can't give a definite amount of time that this lasts for, as it seems to last for a minute longer every time it happens.
